    About to take a walk but first a note or two. Lucky Charms for breakfast, Mass at Our Lady of Victories and my “favorite” priest celebrated the mass. Saw Rich and Joe at the service. Back home and outside. Clearing the view to the pond, taking out Russian Olive and lots of rose briers. Fixed wood chipper prior and now I have good bit of ramial wood chips to spread around the orchard trees. Speaking of spreading, I spread the free manure and the wood ash from the burn barrel a

    Back Again – Getting older – retirement and farming!

    Took a trip with Becki, Reghan, and Declan to the Twisted Tree Farm Nut Festival this weekend passed in Spencer, NY. Stayed at a Bed and Breakfast and froze at the the festival but learned more about growing nut trees and harvesting nuts. Saw Buttermilk Falls. Purchased 4 Elderberry bushes – 2 “York” variety and 2 “Scotia” variety. Planted them in the back orchard with a good amount of ramial wood chips around each planting. Also put the remaining chips around one apple tree
