Long Day – getting old
The past 6 work days have been long and family issues are wearing on me. There’s lots of talk about what people are going to do but there’s not a lot of action to support the talk. I know, because I have often suffered from the same malaise. I believe that it was Thoreau who said, “You have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them.” That ‘s what I am trying to do. I want to build a stronger foundation under this little piece of paradise I call Two Fish Farm.
I just want to plow the back field and get it right but haven’t started as I need to research “how to plow” before I go tear up the field. More importantly, I haven’t cleared the last of the nuisance trees (mostly Russian Olive) and I don’t have a disc to run over the field after I plow it.
I will be using the two bottom plow that Bob gave me when I purchased his tractor. Should be fun.
Megan is supposed to help me fill the honey jars this Friday with this years’ harvest. We shall see. I hope I have enough jars and need to fill two larger ones for Mario and Ram.
